Kathy teaches government, history, and economics at West Wendover High School. When her community needed leadership, Kathy ran for and was elected to the West Wendover City Council. She also comes from a long line of veterans: Her father (US Army, ret.), grandfathers (US Army, ret., US Marine Corps, ret., and US Army Special Forces, ret.) and father-in-law (US Navy, ret.). Her two sons continued the legacy of military service, with one who served in the US Army, and another currently in the US Air Force Reserves. Her grandson and granddaughter also currently serve (US Army, US Navy).
She made the decision to run for Congress because when she sees what’s going on in our state—and in the world today—she’s reminded of the dark chapters of our nation’s history that she teaches her students about in class.
She’s sick and tired of billionaires and the Epstein Class rewriting the rules for themselves while working families struggle.
COMMON SENSE
In Congress she will fight to restore funding to Medicaid that was cut to pay for tax breaks for the wealthy, and to expand Medicare for all: no copays, no premiums, no out of pocket expenses. Guaranteed care for every person. Everybody in, nobody out.
She’s running to put an end to reckless and endless foreign wars that nobody voted for. She’s running to protect and safeguard our public lands for future generations to come. She’s running to stop Wall Street from buying up all our homes and driving up the rents. She’s running to lower the cost of living and help you afford gas in your tank, a roof over your head, and food on your table.
Call it progressivism or call it economic populism. Kathy just calls it common sense.
